What should I record first?
A point-of-entry system can treat water feeding several fixtures, while an under-sink system serves a more limited use. Start with the supplying source and a clear goal such as particles or a supported taste-and-odor reduction, rather than a promise to remove everything.
What changes the recommendation?
Compare the exact complete-system claim, rated flow, pressure drop, media capacity and service schedule. Hardness removal is a separate function; a carbon tank should not be described as a conventional softener.
What should the service scope include?
Have the provider explain entry location, bypass, irrigation separation, drain or power needs and future access. Include startup verification and recurring replacement parts in the quote. Choose a smaller scope when the concern only exists at a dedicated drinking-water tap.
Apply the correct source evidence
Confirm the supplier on the property water bill. Port St. Lucie’s public report applies to its Utility Systems customers; a mailing address does not prove supplier, and a private well needs its own testing. See the Port St. Lucie source guide before applying a report or selecting a treatment goal.
