What should I record first?
List the fixtures likely to run together and the source's available pressure and flow. A system can have enough daily treatment capacity while still creating excessive pressure loss or insufficient contact time during a busy household period.
What changes the recommendation?
Compare service flow, pressure drop at that flow and any backwash requirement with actual supply capability. A private-well pump and pressure tank impose constraints different from those of a municipal service line.
What should the service scope include?
Ask the proposal to state its assumptions, operating range and future access. Oversizing without a treatment reason can also create cost or service problems. Retain the sizing notes so later troubleshooting can distinguish a changed household need from a component failure.
Apply the correct source evidence
Confirm the supplier on the property water bill. Port St. Lucie’s public report applies to its Utility Systems customers; a mailing address does not prove supplier, and a private well needs its own testing. See the Port St. Lucie source guide before applying a report or selecting a treatment goal.
Review the 2025 Water Quality Report for the appropriate source boundary. Source review: October 4, 2026. This guide provides decision questions; equipment selection and any safety-related interpretation require appropriate measurements and qualified advice.
